ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Management Studies was established in the year 2002. The objective of the department is to produce aspirant Women Managers with expertise in Finance Management, Human Resource Development, Marketing Management, Advertising Management, Systems Management, Business Laws, Corporate Governance and Business Ethics and who could advise the Top Management on best practices in Business Administration. Besides, the students are provided with right skills, attitudes and values needed for the profession. The students are well exposed to undertake research on Contemporary Issues of Business Administration.

PROGRAMMES ON OFFER

Eligibility: Any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University
Mode of Selection: The candidate should have passed the TANCET/
MAT/Entrance Test conducted by this University, followed by Oral Interview
- M.Phil. (Management) - Full Time and Part Time
Duration: 1 year – Semester pattern
Eligibility: A Post-Graduate degree in Management, Commerce,
Business Administration, Corporate Secretaryship with a minimum of 55% marks
Mode of Selection: Through University Entrance Test followed by Oral Interview

1. MBA PROGRAMME
The curriculum for MBA is framed to align the requirements of the Industries. The curriculum is periodically revised to include latest amendments/ developments. The Curriculum is designed to provide Dual Specialization in functional areas of Management, viz., Finance, Human Resource, Marketing and Systems. The students are provided with academic flexibility of choosing the Specialization papers from a wide spread of Papers in each area according to their interest.
The programme includes Internship for duration of 30 days in Corporate Organisations in the areas of Secretarial, Finance, Marketing and Human Resources at the end of II Semester and required to submit a brief report at the beginning of the III Semester.
It also includes Major Project on the chosen Specialization to be carried out in a reputed Organisation at the end of III Semester and submit the Project Report in their IV Semester. Viva-voce will be conducted after evaluation of the report.
As part of Curriculum Industrial Visits were arranged to students every year to have practical exposure to reputed industries such as Food Processing, Harbours, Pharmaceutical, Textile, Sugar, Leather industries etc. across the country.
2. RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
The Department is offering one year M.Phil. (Full-time and Part-time) and Doctoral Programmes (Full-time & Part-time) in Management. The objective of these programmes is to produce expertise teaching professionals and research associates, who can contribute for further research.
The Department has a spacious building and a computer laboratory. Multimedia teaching aids are used to stimulate listening and better understanding among the students. The faculty employs modern pedagogical techniques to harness the students’ skill through workshops, seminars, group discussions and training.
The Department frequently arranges Guest Lectures on current issues in Management by inviting Industry Professionals and Academic Experts. It also regularly organizes National Seminars/ Workshops on contemporary areas in Management.
The MBA and M.Phil. (Management) degree holders find placements as Management Trainees, Junior level Managers and Executives in Corporates, IT Sectors and Financial Institutions and as Teaching faculty in the discipline of Management in higher educational institutions.
The department has separate Library with good number of books and subscribes to journals and magazines. It has also Wifi Connectivity to retrieve latest information from websites. To have abreast knowledge in the business field various Business Newspapers are subscribed by students.
The students were encouraged to take part in Management Meet conducted by various Universities and Management Institutes. Students were motivated to take active participation in Seminars and present Papers on innovative topics conducted by various educational institutions. Our students look smart in their professional dress code.
The Department has established a Management Club “Business Galaxy”. The activities conducted by the Club include, Business Quiz, Marketing Games, Paper Presentation, Role Play etc.
