About Lab

• Our Food science lab infrastructure is an effective and well-equipped one with instruments. The purpose is to provide hands-on experience to the students and research scholars. 
• The facility of the lab helps to acquire knowledge on the development of the food product, nutritional analysis, sensory analysis and quality testing. The instruments, such as a laminar-air flow chamber, autoclave, centrifuge, hot air oven, and incubator, were purchased through the research projects, which were funded by the  UGC, DST SERB, TNSCST and CMRG. 
• Under the guidance of the professionals, the students acquired knowledge and were well-trained in handling instruments in food microbiology and clinical nutrition. Based on the course curriculum, a training session on a workshop was conducted in the lab, which was facilitated. The research project on the food processing and clinical units was performed by the students and research scholars in the lab were fully fitted.
