About the Department
The year of Establishment of the department is 1985. The Primary Purpose of the Home Science Department is to provide opportunities for students to pursue a quality education in Home Science. Importance is placed on providing opportunities within the curricula for development of enhanced skills in critical thinking, communication, leadership and computer literacy.
The Department of Home Science also seeks to provide students opportunities for growth beyond the classroom through a wide range of extracurricular activities, programmes and services through the maintenance of environment, cultural and intellectual diversity.
The Courses offered under the Department of Home Science prevails in all three Research and Extension centres such as Madurai, Chennai and Coimbatore seeking opportunities for developing Academic Excellence, the students has more scope to get the exposure for research, projects, internship, industrial visit, and placement.
