About the Department
The Department of Library and Information Science was established in the year 2000 to meet the challenges of emerging scenarios in the 21st century and to exploit the new opportunities in the field. It boasts dedicated faculty with strong research experience and offers excellent infrastructure for M.Lib.I.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes.
The curriculum is institutionally aligned and frequently updated. Students are trained in cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Libraries, Institutional Repositories, CMS, Knowledge Management, E-Learning, and Web Technologies. These courses are practically oriented to suit the needs of academic, government, and corporate information sectors.
The department’s programmes build a robust foundation in core and advanced areas of Library and Information Science, empowering students as independent researchers and professionals in the information industry.
