YRC/RRC
The Youth Red Cross Red Ribbon Club (YRCRRC) is a student-oriented voluntary organization functioning under the aegis of the University, with the objective of fostering humanitarian values, social responsibility, and health awareness among young learners. The club actively engages students in programmes related to community service, blood donation, health and hygiene awareness, disaster response, AIDS awareness, and civic responsibility. Through various outreach activities, awareness campaigns, and training programmes, YRCRRC aims to cultivate compassion, discipline, leadership, and a spirit of service among students, thereby contributing to nation-building and social well-being.
At Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, the Youth Red Cross & Red Ribbon Club (YRCRRC) actively contributes to both academic enrichment and community engagement, aligning with the university’s mission of holistic education and social responsibility.
Extension & Outreach Activities: The YRC/RRC unit regularly conducts health-related extension activities such as bone density awareness and general health check-up camps in collaboration with local health organisations and community partners, involving students and faculty in service-oriented experiential learning.
Health and Awareness Programmes: RRC organises orientation sessions, exposure visits to health centres, World AIDS Day observances, and other awareness initiatives that help students integrate public health knowledge with social service practice.
Student Engagement: These programmes provide practical exposure beyond classroom learning, encouraging students to apply principles from their academic curriculum in real community contexts, thereby enhancing their life skills, leadership, and social awareness. At Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, the Youth Red Cross & Red Ribbon Club (YRCRRC) actively contributes to both academic enrichment and community engagement, aligning with the university’s mission of holistic education and social responsibility.
